Show Notes

Trauma, like grief, comes in many forms. There’s a level of trauma a parent experiences when their child leaves this life, whether the passing is expected or not. Most people aren’t aware of that, even when they’re living it. The trauma journey is as unique for each person as is the grief journey.

Michelle Robertson is no stranger to trauma. In her healing journey from various traumas, she found that writing was a way for her to process it. In our conversation, we talked about:

  • How an attempted carjacking shifted her life
  • How trauma of any kind affects our identity
  • How trauma affects our ability to trust
  • Creative clustering - what it is and how it can jumpstart your writing
  • Why someone needs to earn the right to hear your story
  • The connection between your identity and reframing your story
  • One of the most important questions to ask when you use writing as a tool to help heal trauma
  • And so much more!
